About My Design

This piece was inspired by its namesake, the song "All That Jazz" from the musical Chicago. I got so involved in the song recently for a competition that its jazzy-blues feel just flowed into my sketchbook as I mulled over the lyrics and song while working on it. I suppose, if it would inspire anything in others, I would want people to take chances, and be a little daring. I've always had music but recently it helped loosen me up and reawaken a desire to sing for others again.

@Jaden. Agreed. the asphalt, to me, looks to be the best color for the background/shirt.

Chady, that's actually military green in the suggested colors, but maybe they'd offer a brown as well.

Thanks for the comment, Boots :) I'm thinking the asphalt is the best choice overall. I know there was some love for the cranberry shirt color, but when I look at it, I love it best with the white hair.

I hate the song, but I love the design. I think asphalt is my favorite. No, blue with white hair. No, my favorite would be blue with white hair only with an orange feather. Yes!

@djunes: Just so you know, the 'red' is supposed to be a cranberry/burgundy color. I'm glad there are a few people interested in that version. I was a little hesitant to put that combo up.
@SirEuan: I would be worried to add additional swirls. I fear it would make the piece too busy and make the face even more hidden.

This is really nice idea. I think it could benefit from a bit more detail, maybe build the image up with smaller swirls. Really nice though!

@djune: yeah I was trying to get that slow, bluesy feel across with it. I'm glad it came through.
@loop: yeah I think it does best on the asphalt too. I just felt I should show it off in more colors... keep the options open, you know?
