Design for a Greater Good: Put Your Hands Where Your Heart Is

What?:
Design a shirt that reflects the spirit of the direct-service and advocacy work that the Jesuit Volunteer Corps does on behalf of people who are poor and marginalized in the U.S. and around the world. The theme is “Put your hands where your heart is.”

Why?:
To raise awareness of the value and importance of full-time volunteerism, both for the volunteers and for the people who are served.

When: This is a 3-week long contest!

  • Fri/Sat (May 12th): Contest theme launches
  • Mon (May 14th): @12:00AM Open for submissions and votes
  • Sat (June 2nd): @11:59PM PST Contest closes
  • Weds (June 7th): Winner is announced. Pre-order starts: 06.07-06.17.

Important Notes:

  • The design should not be designed with a green, red, brown, or blue t-shirt in mind.
  • (Optional): The words “Jesuit Volunteer Corps” and the organization’s URL, jesuitvolunteers.org, should appear as subtle secondary elements in your design.

We are a few friends from college that share the vision of running a fun and sustainable business to help professional and amateur artists alike get their inspirational messages out to the public. Jesuit Volunteer Corps is a service organization that provides direct service to the poor and marginalized. Working at schools, hospitals, nonprofits, and other sites around the world, JVC’s idealistic, inquisitive, mission-minded Jesuit Volunteers immerse and respect on four Catholic, Ignatian values: spiritual exploration, simple living, community with other JVs and those they serve, and the pursuit of social justice. Prize

One (1) winner is selected by the JVC Staff with the supporting voting data. The winner will receive:
$500 Cash, $100 store credit, 6% royalty per shirt sold
The winning design will benefit JVC in their efforts to work with the poor and marginalized in the U.S. and around the world.
